Activities that will keep you Entertained
Tanchowk village is located 45 km northwest of Pokhara. Majhgaon, Patlekhet, and Tomijong are neighboring villages of Tanchowk. In earlier days there were over 100 families used to live in the village. But now only a few families are left in the village. The village has great natural resources such as magnificent scenery, and evergreen forest, that can attract tourists to visit.
What to See and Do
Our lodge offers several area activities including retreat experiences, bird watching, short nature hiking, camping in the middle of the forest, butterflies, botanical study, etc. It gives one of the best hiking experiences through the evergreen forest. There are several short hiking trails around our lodges through the forest.
Retreat
Our lodge is located in the middle of the forest and the nearest settlements are located over 2 km away. So no disturbance of people noise and vehicle. You can have one of the best retreat experiences in our lodge. You can make months-long retreat experiences in the middle of the forest by staying at our lodge.
Butterfly
Forest of Tanchowk or neighboring villages. You can have ample opportunity to view over 400 types of bird species. Also, there are many types of animals, bear, deer, leopard, raccoons, monkies, fox, and many more
Village Tour
There are a few villages that are just an hour's hiking distance from our lodge. The villages are getting empty day by day. Very few people are living in the village. Tanchowk, Majhgaon, Patlekhet, Tomijong, and Bhachek. If you extend your stay in our lodge, we can make a tour of those villages. You can experience the livelihood of those villages.
Hiking and Camping Excursion
Hiking into the forest is another great experience. You can see different kinds of flora and fauna. There are nice camping grounds in the middle of forests. If you like to extend your stay by camping in the middle of the forest, no problem! we can organize privately for you with all necessary logistics that includes tents, mattress, sleeping bags, pillow, etc
Social and community activities
The lodge aims to empower local communities as well. We organize regular social events and activities which educate and create awareness to locals about the environment, health, women empowerment, sustainability, and organic farming, etc. Volunteering opportunities are available in our lodge. We provide you a complimentary lodging.
Sunrise viewing
Spectacular sunrise and sunset view over the Himalayas can experience from the lodge. Taking just a little hike you will be on another side of our lodge on the top of the hill. From there you can have the opportunity to view sunrise and sunset over the Annapurna Himalayan range, and Pokhara valley on another side. From the top of hill you will be able to view long range of Annapurna Himalayan range including Annapurna South, Himchuli, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchre (mt. Fishtail), Annapurna 1, Annapurna 2, Annapurna 3, Lamjung Himal, and more
Hot Spring Trip
An overnight hot spring trip can arrange from our lodge. Natural hot spring is just a day hiking away from our lodge to Jhinuwa on the way to Annapurna Base Camp. It is a great experience soaking in the natural hot spring.
